Designers Are Using AI All the Time \u2014 But Firms Still Limit How It\u2019s Used<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>One of the clearest findings is also the most unexpected:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>AI has already become part of&nbsp;<em>daily<\/em>&nbsp;design routines, yet it appears in only a fraction of&nbsp;<em>actual<\/em>&nbsp;projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Designers say they use AI:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>to generate&nbsp;<a href=\"\/fr\/d5-lite\/\">early concepts<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to speed up ideation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to test visual directions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to refine presentations<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>to produce better imagery for clients<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>However, when asked how many projects AI was used in during the past year, the usage drops significantly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This means designers are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>experimenting on their own<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>integrating AI into personal workflows<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>but not always able (or allowed) to bring AI into the formal project pipeline<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The scale of this gap \u2014 and which types of firms have the biggest mismatch \u2014 becomes much clearer in the full data.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>2.
