From June 10–13, the D5 team joined thousands of architects, designers, and technology leaders at the AIA Conference on Architecture & Design 2026 in San Diego. Across four days of conversations, demos, and networking events, one thing stood out: the future of architecture is becoming increasingly collaborative, AI-driven, and connected.

Here’s a look back at some of the highlights from AIA26.

Bringing Visualization Workflows to Life at Booth 1952

At the heart of D5’s presence was Booth 1952, where the team welcomed architects, students, visualization specialists, and design professionals interested in exploring the latest developments in real-time visualization.

Throughout the conference, visitors stopped by to experience live demonstrations of D5 Render and D5 Lite while discussing real-time, end-to-end rendering workflows. Through live project demos, attendees explored AI-assisted tools that help architects and designers generate high-quality visuals faster, simplify repetitive rendering tasks, and accelerate design iteration. These AI capabilities enable firms to communicate ideas more effectively, save valuable production time, and deliver compelling presentations without compromising visual quality.

Visitors also took a closer look at the Cesium integration, which enables teams to place projects within rich, real-world geospatial context for more informed planning and compelling presentations. Along with a sneak peek at upcoming features, attendees connected with our team through one-on-one Q&A sessions with D5 experts to discuss practical workflows and how these technologies can support everyday project needs.

The booth remained busy and energetic throughout the show, creating opportunities for both existing users and first-time visitors to exchange ideas with the team.

Beyond Booth 1952, D5 was also featured at the HP booth, where HP showcased our software running on their hardware alongside two other visualization solutions.

This setup gave visitors the opportunity to experience different visualization workflows while demonstrating the performance capabilities of HP workstations. It provided an additional touchpoint for attendees and further highlighted the strong collaboration between D5 and HP.

Supporting Connections Across the AEC Technology Community

Beyond the exhibition floor, one of the highlights of the week was the Archi+Tech Social Night, which D5 proudly sponsored alongside aec+tech at the Carrier Johnson + Culture office in downtown San Diego.

Designed as a more intimate gathering during AIA26, the invite-only evening brought together leaders from across architecture, design technology, and innovation. Architects, BIM leaders, technology founders, and industry innovators gathered to exchange ideas and discuss how emerging technologies are shaping the future of AEC practice.

During the event, the D5 team welcomed attendees and highlighted recent developments in D5 Render. Attendees also enjoyed a relaxed happy hour while connecting with peers from across the industry.

By sponsoring the Archi+Tech Social Night, D5 was proud to help create a space for meaningful conversations and new connections among the people actively building the future of the built environment.

Continuing the Conversations Beyond the Expo

The AIA experience extended well beyond the convention center.

Members of the D5 team also joined several community gatherings throughout the week, including the AVAIL Bourbon Club and Pirros BIM Reaper socials. These events provided additional opportunities to connect with firm leaders, technology partners, and potential clients in more informal settings.
