Hardware and System Constraints
The least requirement, for now, is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB.
We recommend NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or higher, or Quadro RTX series.
D5 Render’s primary rendering pipeline is built based on DX12 + DXR. It needs Win10 v1809 and higher.
What's the difference between D5 Community and D5 Pro
D5 Community Edition is free, which includes all the features except for animation&video and high-quality assets library. It's available for image rendering needs.
D5 Pro is the full version. Free updates for life.
Support for More 3D Formats
Sketchup, FBX, 3ds Max(through D5 converter plugin) are supported now.
Rhino, Revit, C4D, and more 3D formats will be supported on the roadmap. Stay tuned.
Being standalone fits better as a composer. It minimizes the limitations of assets created by different CAD or modeling software to allow merging them into one project. It is also more extendable to build dedicate video animation modules.
The form as built-in plugin is also needed to bring more responsive experience during design changes. We plan to develop plugins for different platforms on the roadmap, and they’ll be compatible with the standalone version.
