The 2025 D5 Render Community Challenge I: Create Your Ideal Retreat has officially come to an end, and we truly appreciate the creativity and enthusiasm you brought to the challenge. Your submissions were full of imagination, skill, and personality. After a careful review of all submissions, we’re pleased to announce the winners:

🥇1st Place:

“Through my travels around the world the one place that I have felt real connection to is the mountains, specifically by the water and forests in the Pacific North West. With this submission I have included multiple views (moody PWN day, Stunning spring time, Winter glowing sunset and a artistic close up). These views help to demonstrate how the mountains can change throughout the year and day and they optimise the ideal retreat in my eyes. The solitude, being one with the natural environment while sharing it with the ones we love. with this work I explored every aspect of the new features in D5, custom terrain generation, real time path tracing and all AI features. Combines they have helped to to create these truly stunning images.”

“In this work, I aimed to capture the concept of an 'Ideal Retreat', blending modern architecture seamlessly with nature. The elevated A-frame house gives a sense of floating amidst the trees, surrounded by lush greenery and an emerald lake that reflects pure serenity.

Key Highlights:

• ‍Harmony Between Humans and Nature – The house features a solar-powered design that integrates effortlessly with the environment.
• A Relaxing Atmosphere – The wooden deck and lakeside platform add depth to the scene, enhancing the feeling of tranquility.
• Story and Emotion – The woman sitting by the water embodies a moment of peace, reflecting a desire to escape the chaos of everyday life.

This rendering is a vision of a dream retreat a serene sanctuary where one can disconnect from the outside world and reconnect with nature.”

“The main idea of the scene is to create an atmosphere of solitude, harmony between humans and nature, and architecture that does not disrupt the landscape but rather enhances its beauty. The mountain landscape with snow-capped peaks in the background, open alpine meadows, and dense fir forests form the perfect setting for such architecture. Horses grazing and a photographer in the foreground add an extra layer of life and emotional depth to the scene.”
