D5 December 2025 Recap: A Month of Momentum and Meaningful Moments

While the year wound down, December kept its own steady pace: full of learning, conversation, and connection. Across webinars, in-person meetups, student workshops, and regional sessions, the D5 community came together to exchange ideas and explore how real-time visualization and AI continue to shape our work.

Here’s what happened in December, and how it’s setting the tone for what’s next.

1. Key Learning Moments: Events, Workshops, Webinars

1.1 AI in Practice: Driving Efficiency, Profitability, and Competitive Advantage

This webinar marked a turning point in the AI conversation. Instead of asking what AI can do, the focus shifted to what it should do: simplify workflows, reduce friction, and enable better decision-making.

For many attendees, it served as a checkpoint — a moment to assess how real-time and AI-powered tools are already reshaping daily practice, not just future plans.

1.2 Artificial Intelligence in Architecture (AI+A) 4: AI for Everyone, New York

D5 Render at (AI+A) 4: AI for Everyone, New York

Hosted in person at the Center for Architecture, this event brought together architects, designers, and educators for a candid, engaging conversation about AI in design.

The discussion moved beyond speculation, focusing on how AI is being used today — and what it means for authorship, collaboration, and creative control. Attendees shared real-world insights, thoughtful questions, and practical examples from their own work.

The tone was open and inclusive, reflecting a shared goal: making AI accessible and supportive of the human side of architecture.

1.3 ATN Summit — Workshop 01: BIG × D5 Render

This hands-on session offered a rare behind-the-scenes look at how BIG uses visualization as part of its design thinking — not just a presentation step. By walking through real workflows, the session revealed how real-time rendering supports early ideation, faster alignment, and more effective communication.

1.4 Regional Webinars: Consistent Signals Across Asia and the Middle East

D5 Partner-led sessions in UAE (VPS), India (Genesis), Malaysia (Medianetic), and Bangladesh (SmartBD) showed growing interest in practical, efficient tools. These weren’t just introductions to D5 — they reflected deepening curiosity about real-time and AI-driven workflows.
Taken together, the message was clear: architects are no longer testing at the edges — they’re integrating.

1.5 D5 Kickoff Workshop at KMITL, Bangkok

D5 Workshop at KMITL, Bangkok

Held at the Faculty of Architecture, Art, and Design, this workshop introduced students to real-time rendering not as a shortcut, but as part of a professional design workflow. With demos, industry examples, and license guidance, students left with a clearer view of how visualization fits into real practice — and where new opportunities are emerging. Organized by Tech Data, the session reaffirmed D5’s long-term commitment to education.

1.6 Thailand Community Meetup: Growth Through Connection

D5 Community Meetup, Bangkok

December also marked D5’s first-ever Thailand Community Meetup — and it felt like the start of something lasting. Educators, designers, certified instructors, campus ambassadors, and partners came together to share knowledge, feedback, and ideas. Instructor-led sessions highlighted D5’s evolution into an all-in-one workflow. Open conversations created space for collaboration. The message was clear: growth accelerates when the community grows together.

1.7 The ATN x D5 Video Competition

We invite creators around the world to reimagine the BIG Birdhouse through a 30–60 second visualization — using light, atmosphere, and camera movement to craft a compelling environment and story.

Open to students, professionals, and hobbyists aged 16 and up. Entries may be submitted individually or as a team (one submission per person or team).

Submission deadline: February 16, 2026.
